In this column I will explore with you the unstoppable power of a dream.

The genius of America is to provide the environment where any person can pursue a dream of achievement and enjoy its results. As surely as a human is able to think, a human is able to dream. I have never met anyone who, at one point or another during life, didn't have a dream.

I will draw from the depths of my book, The Making of an American, and relate my experiences to everyday life in the hopes that from the platform of LifeintheBrazos.com we can reach many people and inspire them to find, understand, and achieve their dreams.

This country was built on a dream, and almost any extraordinary achievement was built on a dream. Never give up your dream. Find it, shape it, nurture it, and pursue it until you achieve it. It is my sincere hope that all can benefit by seeing the truths revealed in this column and my book, to understand the opportunities we have as Americans and how we came to have those opportunities that we should never take for granted, and should pursue by knowing "The Power of a Dream."

What matters is whether or not there is a climate propitious for development of the dream. More...

Although we all think we are a mature country now, I wonder about its resilience and durability. Does the system that I have come to love so well have the inner strength to continue tilting the trend lines of progress up to heights never before reached? More...

The Influence of Religion

"America's founding fathers realized the need to separate political from religious power and, despite being religious themselves, wrote this exclusion into our constitution. This decision opened the gates for people from any and all religious preferences to find in America the place to create their values and make their dreams come true."
This article, the third in a series by Ram Galindo, author of The Making of an American, explores the influence of religion in historical events and the evolution of society through the centuries that led to the founding principles of our country. More...

Value and Money

"The constructive dream that lights the lives of most individuals and propels them to patience, discipline and sacrifice is, in every case, one of self-improvement. The dream may take many forms, from breaking a sports record, becoming an artist, teacher, scientist, entrepreneur or statesman, or just being a good parent, but the underlying substrata is always self-improvement."
