The Children's Museum of the Brazos Valley - A Local Treasure If you are ever looking for the perfect place to take the child in your life whether you are a grandparent, parent, caretaker, or teacher, go no further than 111 East 27th Street in downtown Bryan, Texas. The "real" train cruising along the near-by track will be the first bit of entertainment and you have not even entered the doors. One of our locally painted locomotives proudly sits outside of The Children's Museum of the Brazos Valley, located in the old Municipal Building.
You and your child can shop for groceries in a miniature HEB, paint a Volkswagen bug, build with blocks, and take things apart. Your child can become an actor on his own stage, a puppeteer, musician, or doctor. He or she can design a train track, climb into a rocket ship, or take a little time to enjoy a favorite book.
The Museum highlights special guests throughout the year, including local chefs, artists, storytellers, and professionals. In February, the Daddy Daughter Dance is a grand event that provides the perfect evening for a father and his little girl to enjoy a magical wonderland. Summer at the Museum is packed with mini-camps for kids, highlighting leadership, art, and other skills for your little one. Fall Fest is an October tradition at the Museum that brings thousands of children to Downtown for arts and crafts, food, bouncers, a sports zone, and even a haunted house. A Pumpkin Walk featuring over 200 pumpkins decorated by local classrooms, children and adults is also a part of Fall Fest. In December, Santa makes a visit for brunch to the Museum, with a beautiful tea party set-up for you and your child. The first-ever Rudolph 5K Fun Run & Walk will take place in downtown Bryan this year, in conjunction with Brunch with Santa.
Membership to this local treasure begins at $40 and lasts the entire year. Visit their new and improved website at www.mymuseum.com or call 979-779-KIDS to find out more about a kids dreamland right here in the Brazos Valley.
