2008 Trash Off Event Set for April 5 On April 5th, 2008, Keep Navasota Beautiful will be hosting the 2008, Don’t Mess With Texas Trash Off Event as part of the Great American Cleanup! Individuals, families, community groups and businesses are encouraged to participate in this year’s clean-up event. The morning will start off with registration, breakfast and pep-rally at 9:00 am. From 9:00-11:30, groups will be assigned areas of town to collect litter and then at 12:00 groups will meet back at the center for activities and lunch. A variety of activities are planned to keep participants entertained during lunchtime. Music, trash bag relays, games, door prizes, and activities such as Trash to Art, Trash to Fashion, and Trash to Trade will keep everyone entertained after their hard work. For the Trash to Fashion event, cleanup crews will choose one team member who will create a costume from a bag of trash which will be provided to each team. When all costumes are assembled, the models will walk the runway in our Trash to Fashion show. Prizes will be given for best costume. Participants are also encouraged to bring garage sale worthy items for Trash to Trade. Items will be collected prior to trash pickup and upon return for lunch, participants can rummage through these trashy treasures and trade items. This year’s Trash Off Event will be full of excitement and activity so be sure to register your cleanup group today!
