| April 2- Computer Club for Seniors The club meets on the first Wednesday of each month from 9:00am-10:30am at the Carter Creek Training room located at 2200 North Forest Parkway in College Station. All senior computer users who are interested in improving their computer skills are invited to hear a variety of topics and find answers to their questions. The topic for Wednesday, is "Genealogy". Please join us and for more information, contact College Station Senior Services at 764-6371. April 3- May15 - Senior Citizen Police and Fire Academy Learn more about the College Station Police and Fire Departments in a course designed just for you. The course will meet on Thursdays from 9:00am-11:30am and will include information on crimes against the elderly, fire prevention and personal safety tips, traffic and law enforcement, CPR and more. Call 764-3624 or 764-6371 to request an application and more information. April 4 & 18 - Friday Bridge The College Station Friday Bridge Group meets on the first and third Friday of each month from 9:00am-12:00 noon at the College Station Teen Center located at 1520 Rock Prairie Road. No partners needed and it is free! We welcome all seniors who enjoy the game of bridge. If interested in having your name added to the list of participants, please contact College Station Senior Services Coordinator at 764-6371. April 16 -Exploring College Station History Lunch-Lecture Series The College Station Historic Preservation Committee and The Senior Advisory Committee host the lunch/lectures at the College Station Conference Center located at 1300 George Bush Drive. The topic on Wednesday, is "The Last Train Stop" presented by Ross Albrecht, Forestry Superintendent with the College Station Parks and Recreation Department. Lunch is $5.00 and a reservation is required. Lunch is served at 11:30am and the speaker begins at 12:00 noon. Please call 764-3491 to make your reservation by Friday, April 11, 2008. April 17 - 20- Brazos Valley Senior Games Brazos Valley Senior Games are scheduled to take place April 17-20, 2008 with events in Bryan-College Station, Navasota, Caldwell and Somerville. The events hosted during the four days include: bowling, cycling, golf, horseshoes, washers, swimming, tennis, track & field, triathlon, volleyball and bridge. The Brazos Valley Senior Games offers individuals ages 50 and older an opportunity to compete to qualify for the state and regional games with the possibility of qualifying for national competition.
