New Board of Directors named at recent meeting

The primary purpose of the Grimes County Crime Stoppers is to pay out tips to citizens if the tip leads to an arrest and conviction of a criminal in Grimes County.  GCCS also serves as a support organization to ALL law enforcement agencies in the county.  GCCS participates in events like the Navasota Christmas Parade, Red Cross Health & Safety Day, Campus Crime Stoppers (at county High Schools), the Navasota Police Department's Treats on The Streets event and annual banquet which was held January 26, to honor our law enforcement officers for their service to protecting it's citizens and to thank all who support the organization's efforts.
 
SInce 2002, over 120 tips have been called in, 51 suspects arrested, 60 cleared cases, and the recovery of over $25,000 in stolen property.  In 2007, there were tip payouts totaling $3,400 and 14 suspects arrested.
 
Grimes County Crime Stoppers meets every 2nd Wednesday at the courthouse annex in Anderson at 7:00 p.m.  Website adddress is www.gccrimestoppers.org
 
Currently, the organizaton has embarked on their annual fundraising drive and hope county citizens and businesses will consider continuing to support their efforts.
