WHAT:              The City of Bryan recently took delivery of a new Mobile Command Vehicle, which will be unveiled to the Bryan City Council in a workshop session of the Bryan City Council meeting on Tuesday March 11, at 3:00 pm.   A briefing and demonstration of the vehicle and its capabilities will be conducted by Fire Chief Mike Donoho.

Donoho’s presentation will include an update on the City of Bryan’s homeland security grant allocations from 2003-2007 as well as the City of Bryan’s regional response capabilities and responsibilities. After the briefing, the council will be given a tour and demonstration of the new mobile command vehicle

The vehicle was designed by members of the City of Bryan Fire and Police Departments with assistance from Emergency Management and Information Technology (IT) staff.
HOW:               This Mobile Command Vehicle was purchased for $686,000 with Homeland Security Grant funds. The City of Bryan combined homeland security grant allocations from 2005, 2006, and 2007 to design and purchase the vehicle. The purchase was approved and supported by the Brazos Valley Homeland Security Advisory Council. This council is represented by members from each county in the Brazos Valley Council of Governments (BVCOG).
WHY:                This vehicle will help our BVCOG region meet the mandate from The Governors’ Division of Emergency Management - to focus on and upgrade “Interoperable Communication” capabilities.
WHERE:           The workshop session of the Bryan City Council meeting and demonstration of the Mobile Command Vehicle will take place at the City of Bryan Municipal Building, located at 300 S. Texas Ave., Bryan.
