Summary: A home has been found for Buddy, blind Great Pyrenees.
|
Time is running out for a young Great Pyrenees named Buddy. He is one year old, all vaccinations are current, neutered, and he is heartworm negative. A rescue or adoption is being sought for this sweet boy. Buddy is blind and likes to wake up about 2:00 AM. He needs a home that can work with him and understand his needs. A little understanding and training could go a long way. He is currently in a temporary foster home provided by a shelter volunteer.
If anyone is interested in helping Buddy, please contact Amanda at 903-701-3571 or EMAIL Amanda at The Poodle Patch and Friends, Texarkana, Texas.
UPDATE to this story Feb. 2, 2008 from the local Great Pyrenees Rescue - In an effort to help Buddy with his adoption, it has been arranged to have Buddy's eyes checked out, on Feb. 14th, by an eye specialist at the Texas A&M Vet School, in the hopes that something might be done to help Buddy regain some sight. Buddy has been blind since birth. Unfortunately, they have NOT been able to find anyone who would be willing to help them transport Buddy from his foster home in Texarkana, to College Station and back to Texarkana. His appointment is Feb. 14th, so time is critical. Is there a kind soul out there somewhere who would be willing to drive or fly Buddy to College Station and back to Texarkana? If so, please email Frances DeGelia or call her at 979-218-7123.
UPDATE to this story Feb. 17, 2008 from the local Great Pyrenees Rescue - A home has been found for Buddy in the Brazos Valley! He visited the Texas A & M Vet School where his condition was evaluated and his blindness was determined to be congential. But, we are told that he is happy with his life and he is now in his new home!
