Bryan Municipal Court Extends Local Warrant Roundup 1 Week

Friday, February 29th marks last day to proactively resolve warrants, waiving arrest

WHAT:             Bryan defendants who have outstanding warrants have until Saturday March 1st to be proactive and avoid an arrest on their record, getting booked, incarcerated, and spending the night in jail while waiting to be seen by a judge.

The actual warrant roundup is now taking place locally with local law enforcement officers physically seeking to arrest defendants.  This began on February 16th and will continue until Saturday, March 1st.

Recently, the Bryan Municipal Court joined 160 cities and county entities in the 2008 Great Texas Warrant Roundup which started on February 1st – 15th, 2008. All entities participating sent out notices to defendants with outstanding warrants.  Bryan Municipal Court mailed out over 4,000 notices to defendants who had outstanding warrants. Any defendant that came in to pay the entire amount due during the amnesty period saved themselves from being arrested as well as the warrant fee of $50.00 per case.
