Bryan to Upgrade Water System
New 54” Transmission Line To Be Installed; Bryan Residents encouraged to conserve water usage
WHAT: Beginning Tuesday, March 25th at approximately 7:00am, Bryan’s Water Services will have a contractor making a critical connection to the water supply system. Although it is expected that partial water production capabilities will be restored within 12 hours, the entire project may extend through the weekend.
Once the project begins, a large amount of water will be discharged from the connection site and will flow underneath Texas Avenue near the Bryan City Cemetery (1111 North TX Ave). This is a necessary part of the process and should not be cause for alarm.
In order to complete the transmission line connection, Bryan’s water production facilities must be taken offline. Once this occurs, Bryan’s available water sources will be limited to storage sources as well as the interconnect source with the City of College Station.
To ensure system demand does not exceed those limited resources, Bryan residents are encouraged to conserve water during this timeframe.
WHEN: Project Start Tuesday, March 25th, approximately 7:00 am
Project End Friday, March 28th, approximately 5:00pm
WHO: Bryan general population
WHERE: The connection site is located at the City of Bryan’s High-Service Pump Station (200 E. 18th St.).
