B-CS Mayors Challenge Each Other in Salvation Army Bell Ring Off
Wal-Mart hosts 1 Hour “B-CS Mayor’s Bell Ringer Battle” on Saturday, December 15
WHAT: Want to help Bryan Mayor Mark Conlee compete with the City of College Station and help out a good cause at the same time?
Easy! All it takes is YOU.
There will be bells ringing for a good cause on Saturday, and the Bryan and College Station Mayor’s offices are taking over the fundraising from that day. Wal-Mart has thrown down the gauntlet for the cities to compete while helping out the local Salvation Army at the same time.
The first Annual Wal-Mart “B-CS Mayor’s Bell Ringer Battle” kicks off this year as Bryan Mayor and Cathy Conlee (accompanied by Council members / read on) and College Station Mayor Pro Tem Ron Gay ring the Salvation Army bell in front of Wal-Mart in their respective cities for an hour… and whichever city raises the most money wins!
Mark and Cathy Conlee will be at Bryan Wal-Mart from 1-2pm, while Ron Gay will be in College Station from 11am-12pm.
Cathy Conlee says that she is streamlining the donation process for Bryan donors. You don’t even have to get out of your car on Saturday – just roll by the front of the store and she will bring the bucket to you!
Who else will be there Saturday? Bryan Council Members Ann Horton, Al Saenz, Mike Southerland, and perhaps others! Also, the BV Bomber mascot Ka-BOOM will be there as well!
But wait, there’s more! For every dollar that the Mayor’s collectively raise, Wal-Mart will match dollar for dollar, up to $1,000. The winner will also have an additional $1,000 donation contributed in his/city’s name. (All donations will go to our area’s local Salvation Army.)
Finally, the winning mayor will be presented a Bell Trophy by the losing mayor at a City Council meeting in the winning Mayor’s city.
So come on, Team Bryan – swing by and show your best team support! We’ll see you Saturday!
WHO: Anyone who will help the City of Bryan help our Local Salvation Army
WHERE: Bryan Wal-Mart
WHEN: Saturday, Dec. 15, 1-2pm Remember, you won’t even have to exit your car!
