Blinn to highlight Legal Assistant Program
Careers in the legal profession are the focus at Blinn College on May 1 as the Legal Assisting Program offers an informational meeting on the Bryan campus. Attorneys and judges who teach Blinn classes will be on hand as well as enrollment services representatives to explain the program and the steps to being admitted. The session begins at 5:30 p.m. in room 132 of the Health Building.
Legal assistants, also known as paralegals, conduct client interviews, investigations, draft legal documents and perform other legal services under the supervision of attorneys. The Bureau of Labor Statistics lists legal assistants as one of the ten fastest growing occupations. Blinn also offers a one-year certificate in legal office management.
Blinn’s legal assisting program offers an Associate in Applied Science degree with classes in such subjects as criminal law, family law, mediation, personal injury, wills, trusts, and probate.
